The Entrainment gallery was conceived as a space for art by digital natives — work that is connected to the changes wrought by digitalization, yet still engages beyond just the "internet aesthetic." What does it look like when a young artist makes a piece that originates from the feeling of being on Instagram all day, rather than making something that would simply generate a positive reaction on Instagram? This work challenges what digital making looks like and should look like, beyond conforming to the standards and expectations of the digital world.
The end result is something that still feels vital and relevant, yet is not dominated by trends and the sticky problem of aesthetic as it exists in our flattened world.

Having pre-show and post show experiences were crucial in expanding the ENTRAINMENT performance into a larger event. For the first forty-five minutes of ENTRAINMENT guests met and mingled while making their way through a visual art gallery curated by Ben Podell. The performance concluded with a dance party "inside the cube," featuring some of Chicago's best up and coming DJs. The post show was curated by DJ Maddie Higgins [Riot Urrrl].
